What is Microblading
Feather Brow Artist Nat with Mount Brows specializes in semi-permanent Microblading of the eyebrows, also known as eyebrow feathering. / 3D tattooing.
Eyebrow feathering is a semi-permanent brow enhancement creating hair-like micro-strokes to thicken, lengthen, and correct brow shape by creating symmetry and giving a softer and more youthful look to the face.Choosing the appropriate colour and shape eyebrow enhances and emphasizes facial structure and features, giving an instant facelift without surgical augmentation.
Brow color and shape will be custom created to suit your skin tone and meticulously measured to the symmetry of the individual face. The initial treatment takes up to 3 hours, which includes consultation, custom shape and aftercare kit as well as treatment. A touch-up is required 4-6 weeks later, from then on the semi-permanent make-up will last for up to 2 years, eliminating the need for tiresome and time-consuming make-up application.
Your semi-permanent make-up will allow you to brave the elements and your make-up will still look as sharp and defined as the day it was applied.
Cosmetic Tattooing is an innovative method of natural pigment application to the dermal layer of skin. The advanced technique is medically proven and entirely safe.
How long does Microblading last? The pigment used in this procedure is semi-permanent, so effects of the procedure typically last up to 12 months or longer. Because of the unique qualities of each individual’s skin and lifestyles, we are unable to guarantee how long your results will last. You will likely need a touchup within 6-24 months.
How is the Microblading procedure preformed? The procedure is done using a hand tool, with a prepackaged, sterile, single use “blade” made up of a grouping of needles that are 3x smaller than the needles that would be used in a tattoo machine. With the appropriate amount of pressure, the skin is scored and the pigment is deposited into the epidermis (outermost layer of skin). Think paper-cuts!
How long does the procedure take?Your first appointment will take between 60-90 minutes, as plenty of time will be taken to assure that we have created the shape you desire before the procedure is performed.
Your second appointment (4 week touch up) will be between 30-60 minutes.
Does Microblading hurt? Each individual will have a different experience with the level of discomfort associated with the service. Some say it is relaxing and they only feel the pressure being applied. Others say it feels about as uncomfortable as tweezing. Still there are some who will feel that it is more uncomfortable. Two topical anesthetics are used to ensure your comfort level during the procedure. One is applied 15 minutes prior to beginning the procedure and the second is applied throughout the entire procedure.
Is the pigment used (during the procedure) safe?Yes, the pigment used is organic, plant based, and MRI safe.
What is the recovery time like? When you leave from your appointment your brow area may appear pink, and the pigment itself will seem darker than you may prefer. The day after your appointment few people would notice anything unusual. Throughout the healing process (1-2 weeks) they will slowly fade to a softer, more natural shade, but they will not be un-presentable. Please refrain from having microblading done before going on a beach vacation or a camping trip.
Why do I need follow up session 4 weeks after my first session? The 4 week perfecting session is required to darken any strokes that need to be, and even out any small imperfections that can come about as result of the healing process.
How often can I get touch ups?As often as you would like, as long as 21 days has passed since your last appointment. You most likely won’t want or need a touchup until at least 6 months have passed. An annual touch up is recommended to keep your brows looking optimal.
How do you choose the shape?MB: We choose the shape of your new brows together. Whether you are just looking to enhance the fullness of your natural brow, or create a whole new shape, we will take it one step at a time. Your new shape will be applied with a cosmetic pencil first so that you can see how it will look your face. We will not start the procedure until you are happy with what we have created.
Will my eyebrows look fake? No, not with the Brow Building method. Because individual strokes are made to closely mimic natural brow hair, most of the time the results are hardly distinguishable.
Will my brows fade?MB: Yes, because the pigments used in the service are natural, plant based pigments, they are semi-permanent. But, unlike tattoo ink, they will fade true to color. As your brows fade, they will look soft and natural. And because the pigment is only placed in the outermost layer of skin, the pigment will not bleed outside of the exact place that it was deposited. This means no blurry blue/grey/green/orange brows. Factors such as sun exposure and certain skincare products and services can also speed up the fading process.
Can I have the procedure done if I have no brow hair at all?Absolutely, this is a great option for those who suffer from Alopecia, Trichotillomania, or have been through Chemotherapy. Microblading can even correct past wax catastrophe, over tweezing, or the normal hair thinning that occurs post menopause.
Can I have this procedure done if I am pregnant? No, this service is not for those who are pregnant and or breastfeeding.
